Introduction

xB VPN is a portable version of OpenVPN, for Windows. Run it on your computer, or put it on a USB flash drive and take your anonymity with you.

What xB VPN does

xB VPN takes control of your network connection, and routes everything through a private network. For XeroBank Pro clients, the software automatically routes everything through the XeroBank network.

How to get xB VPN

  1. Download the XeroBank Installer
  2. Input your Access Account number, and xB VPN will be selected for you.
  3. Let xB VPN create shortcuts for you in your start menu.

Troubleshooting:

xB VPN keeps asking me to reboot after installing drivers: xB VPN first looks to see if you have TAP drivers installed, and if not, it tries to install them. After it completes TAP driver installation, it asks you to reboot. The reason this keeps happening is that xB VPN can’t tell that you’ve got TAP drivers installed. What you can is Manually Install TAP Drivers. This problem most often occurs with Windows Vista x64, due to the UAC.

xB VPN doesn’t start on startup: This problem occurs because you are running a version of xB VPN which requires administrative privileges, or your Windows Vista UAC is interfering with the startup process. To force xB VPN to start, located xBVPN.exe, right click on it, and select “Run as Administrator”.

NOTE: You can use xB Browser in addition to XeroBank service. The browser will recognize you are running xBVPN.exe and will change the settings accordingly. xB Browser is NOT required, so do not feel obligated, but it will help preserve your anonymity by dodging tracking techniques.

NOTE: If you are running xB Browser and it is trying to create Tor circuits or shows the Tor Button extension instead of simply opening right up, you are not running xB VPN. Close the browser, run and connect xB VPN, then re-open xB Browser. If you are correctly running xB Browser while running xB VPN, you will get a similar popup message.
